    Site Promotion Three Primary Targets

When you are seeking to get the word out about your online business there is more than one direction you should consider when developing a plan for site promotion. By accepting only one approach to site promotion you will likely find that there your prospect growth remains stagnant. When these three broad applications are followed you have covered the primary means of site promotion. 1) Online Promotion * Pay Per Click (PPC) * Press Releases * Free to use Articles * Forums * Blogs * Ezines By using applications such as Pay per Click (PPC) you tap into a targeted stream of potential customers making this form of advertising a marketing bargain. Online promotion is not limited to paid advertising. Many netrepreneurs have discovered that the use of well developed press releases can greatly enhance interest in your website. By writing keyword rich articles that prove useful to other online website owners you can see growth in site visitation. Generally speaking free to use articles make a link to your website a condition of use which allows this to be a positive site promotion tool. The use of a forum can allow your customers to discuss your products or services while providing a sense of connection to your online company. When you use a business blog you are effectively connecting with your clients in an informal, yet informational way. You can provide relevant information they will return to over and over again. Ezines can be a very effective tool in connecting with your potential customers in a regular and systematic way. The announcement of sales and special pricing helps your customers make the best use of your site. 2) Search Engine Optimization (SEO) By selecting a focused set of keywords or phrases you can begin using these keywords throughout your website in the form of articles and other information relevant to your product or service. The reason this marketing tool holds value is because this information connects well with search engines. When the search engines rank your site well, potential customers have an easier time finding your web offerings. 3) Off Site Marketing When you develop business cards, promotional items for trade shows and other business related items you need to ALWAYS place your website details on these items. If you advertise in a print publication always make the website a prominent part of your advertisement. You should do this even if you have a brick and mortar store. Ecommerce is an effective means of building or enhancing a business, but you have to learn the means of a change in delivery and marketing concepts to help take your business to the next level.

    Benefits Of Ezine Publishing

On the Internet, it is very possible to make money without selling any product. One way of doing so is through starting your own eZine, also known as an electronic newsletter. In a nutshell, you send out your eZine issues on a periodical basis to your subscribers. The good part is that you have a flexible choice in automating the process of sending out your eZine issues for you or manually sending them on a periodical basis. As an eZine publisher, not only can you easily achieve the benefits a conventional newsletter publisher enjoys without having to chop down several trees in the process, you can easily and conveniently spread your marketing influence and expertise to your base of subscribers from the shoes of an ordinary individual. In other words, you do not have to invest in expensive printing equipment, brick and mortar business, and hiring staff just to run your own newsletter publication, resulting in a lot of time, money and effort saved. Basically, all you need to start your own eZine are an auto responder and broadcast feature to go with, enabling you to reach out to your massive subscribers whom you can regard as your prospects, too. All in all, if you do not have the commitments of creating your own product for sale, then publishing your own online newsletter can be one of the wisest decisions you will ever make, given the benefits of impressive marketing power and influence it can offer to you.

What Do You Do If You Get Kidnapped

Although it is recognized that hard and fast rules cannot be applied in incidents of kidnapping, the following points are worthy of special consideration: Under all circumstances attempt to stay calm and be alert to situations that you can exploit to your advantage. Remember that the primary objective of your family and law enforcement officials will be to secure your safe return as quickly as possible. Do not attempt to fight back or to struggle physically. No matter how reasonable your captors may appear on the surface, they cannot be trusted to behave normally and their actions may be unpredictable. Comply with the instructions of your abductors as well as you can. Do not discuss what action may be taken by your family, friends, or company. Make a mental note of all movements, including time in transit, direction, distances, speeds, landmarks along the way, special odors, and distinctive sounds like bells, construction, voices, etc. Whenever possible, take mental note of the characteristics of your abductors, their habits, surroundings, speech, mannerisms, and what contacts they make. Generally, you cannot expect to have a good opportunity to escape. No attempt to escape should be made unless it has been carefully calculated to ensure the best possible odds for success. Avoid making provocative remarks to your abductors. As noted, they may be unstable individuals who react irrationally. If you have a disease or physical condition that requires treatment request special medicines or medical attention immediately. Try to establish some kind of rapport with your captors. Maintain your cool, use your head and you will get out of this terrible situation. The odds are very long that this will ever happen to you, but you want to be prepared in the event that it does.

    What S A Sales Culture

Hopefully you've taken the time to clarify the roles of your sales team and sales management. It's a valuable exercise. Now you get to assess sales team strategy and culture. Regardless of your methodology half of your sales representatives currently perform below average. Fifty percent are performing below average! Think about that. This is an indisputable fact. So why even assess the team? Simply put, to sell more. Successful selling organizations consist of three components; investment, activity and results. The first component is the investment in the sales team. The investment is measured in compensation, benefits, computers, software, training, hiring, meetings, sales material, phones and other related expenses. The second element is the activity of the investment. Face to face meetings, travel, preparation, telephone calls and administration comprise the second element. The third, and vital, component stands alone; results. How many sales were generated? Profits? Current market share? The glue that binds the three distinct parts includes your people, culture and customers. Is there a career path for salespeople? What is your turnover rate? Who are the sales heroes? What is driving the team to achieve? The best sales managers and sales teams recognize four productivity drivers. 1. Sales research information related to market trends, target markets, customers, trends, etc. 2. Investment and organization size, structure and deployment of sales team allows you to get the right people at the right place at the right time. 3. People selection, training, managing, motivating, evaluation and termination. 4. Sales systems and processes compensation, incentives, benefits, internal support, etc. Tests and surveys remain the most effective way to assess salespeople. Companies rarely assess sales management instead relying on results to determine effectiveness. A successful selling organization operates in a progressive culture. What's a culture? That's best answered by the following story. Six apes were placed in a room with a ladder. A bunch of bananas hung from the center of the room. One ape started to climb the ladder for the fruit and the entire room was showered with cold water. This happened a few times until any ape that wandered near the ladder was beat up by other apes. A new guy replaced one of the original apes. The new guy, wanting to be a hero, headed for the ladder and received a thorough beating. He learned not to go near the ladder. Eventually every one of the original apes was replaced. The beatings continued. The replacement apes were unaware why they were prohibiting others from going near the ladder. They just knew the ladder was off limits. That's a culture. Are there any new apes on your team following old practices without knowing why? Cultures evolve over time and their origins are rarely known. Does your sales team have a culture? I bet it does. Is it a good one? Sales cultures consist of three elements: Ё Norms how individuals actually behave. Ё Values how individuals should behave. Ё Work styles diligent, tardy, professional, thorough, detailed, casual? Changing negative cultures represents a significant challenge but is mandatory…if you want to stay in business. People are the agents of change and must be supported by management. Who are the heroes of your sales team? How long have they been the department hero and for what reason? Knowing these answers will help you assess your culture. You must first formulate your vision of the sales team and evaluate all key contributing factors. Great companies communicate their vision clearly and frequently with all sales related personnel. Don't leave anyone out that comes in contact with your sales team. Next, you must put your vision in action by rewarding individuals for acting in concordance with your vision. This is a process not a destination but as it evolves your sales will increase and profits will soar. This takes courage. You need to ask and answer tough questions. Dedication to a better selling team is required. Don't give up until your vision is clarified, communicated and leads to rewarding the winners. "Only the wisest and stupidest of men never change." Creating An In Class Cable Tv Network

Ever wonder if you and your students could create your own TV news show? Would you like to have announcements and school/class information available to students all class long? Would you like to avoid those students who were absent constantly asking you, "What did we do in class yesterday?" It isn't only possible to do, but with a few pieces of equipment, it's easy to set up and run. You, of course will need several pieces of hardware, including a TV or (digital projector) and a computer. You will also need the proper cables to connect the two. We've discovered that sometimes the resolution on some computers needs to be adjusted or changed, so check your monitors setting. You might even need a scan converter if all else fails. Such a TV network can also be simply set up on a computer monitor which is turned to face the students. Your computer will also need PowerPoint (or an equivalent presentation software). We've used such programs effectively on Macs, as well as Linux and Windows machines, and they all work well for this application. PowerPoint has the feature of progressing through information or slides by either clicking your mouse, or by setting up timings between every action. Thus, you can have each word, line, paragraph, or even graphic animated automatically. You can change up the settings for different bits of info you have. Check the top menu for 'slide show', and follow down the menu to 'custom animation' (or look for a similar command). Once there, you can select each element to animate, the type of transition to occur, any sound you want associated with it, and also the timing (automatic, not on a mouse click). You will want to practice a few times until your timing is good, and there are enough seconds to see or read each element before the next animation or transition. Even your slides can be changed automatically. Go to the 'slide show' menu and select 'slide transition' or 'set up show'. From there, you can choose the type of transition, and even its speed of animation. You may wish to check your computer's settings so the machine doesn't go to sleep on you, or change to a screen saver. That would definitely defeat your purpose! Now that you know how to set up a show, you have to decide what material or information to put out on display. I put up basic information such as the lunch menu, school or class announcements, and homework assignments. I will also post a class schedule and switch times if the daily schedule is altered. For the students who were absent, we also display class notes from previous classes. Now there is no excuse for students missing assignments or class information! And this saves you from having to deal with every returning student asking what was missed and where to find it. If you are brave and want to create a great class project, have your students run your daily announcements. You could partner them up and have your first class of the day create the announcements. Another project is to have your students create storyboards, where a short story is broken up among a number of slides, each slide including pictures, clip art, or graphics to illustrate the story. You can find many good images online or in the clip art of your program. If you have access to a digital camera, you can even have students take their own pictures and insert them. Yet another project we've done is to create a PowerPoint to summarize one class or a week's worth of class info. This becomes an animated newsletter or magazine. Again, assign a student to take photos on a digital camera during the class and combine these with articles on the various activities you've done. You might want to include students' work as examples. There are also advanced techniques you can experiment with as you get better with the program. Sound can be added, such as background music, songs, or voice recordings. There are also ways to include video. Become an expert with the basics, and you'll be ready for these advanced techniques. The Journey To Success In Your Home Based Business

Work at Home Success How do you measure the success in your life? As a home based working mom it’s so different than the outside corporate world. I know for me, one day it can be a call from Borders that they are accepting one of my books, where another day it can be that I finally got my 8 year old to go on a field trip at school. The last two she had missed being too scared to attend and instead spent the day home, sick. Both days, I consider huge successes! Both days, I felt a real winner! Home based success can mean the little things such as a day we get all our work done while attending a sick child, or being one of the only parents able to attend a school function that your daughter so eagerly anticipated. That’s what we are trying to achieve in our home based business, the best of both worlds. And having worked at home since 1985 I can truly say, it can be done. So how can you achieve this success for your business and family? How can you make more good days than bad? Here are some tips: Start Early: I find that by getting up an hour or so before everyone else, I can accomplish so much more. That allows me the extra 10 minutes of devotional time, a few minutes to enjoy my coffee alone, and then time to dig into my work. I usually save my peak work for this time as this is truly when I’m at my best. Regroup and Rebalance: So often home based moms feel overwhelmed and unable to accomplish anything because of this. Try breaking it all down. Take a day or two and write down your typical day. What can you change to make it better, to make it work? Often when it’s down in writing, it’s clearer to see where changes can be made. Try to lump together tasks and delegate any tasks you can. And above all else avoid Guilt. Eliminate time robbers! We still have to cook dinner, (I tried, it didn’t work!) but I don’t have to talk to my friend, who doesn’t work, for 45 minutes during my workday. Say No! Also, with my kids I found some of the work I actually could take outside or in another room. There’s no rule that says I have to work at my desk. Perhaps you can create different workstations around the home. Be creative. Shortcuts To Success: What can you do to make your business run smoother? Constantly be thinking of ways to improve upon your business. Organization is naturally a big one. The more organized you are, the better you’ll be at many things. Another shortcut for me was to create different books of materials that I frequently used so I didn’t have to reinvent the wheel each time and it was right in front of me. Thus, I created different 3 ring binder books of marketing letters, press releases, etc. Anything that I frequently use and would save me time, I’ll implement. Think about things that you can do for your business. Things that you use often, that you could print out and possibly make a collection of, and then look to as a resource. Or what other times savings tip could you think of that would help your business? Another thing I do is buy paper that has 3 ring holes already in it. When I print out a client’s e mail, or client’s article, I’ll immediately put it into their binder categorized by topic. I’m now able to find things more and also can see clearly all I’ve done with the clients. Focus on Success: Continue to see yourself as a success and focus on your goals. Success is within your reach when you continually focus on your goals, both for your business and your family.

    Seinfeld Dvd Review

The preeminent show of the 1990's decade, Seinfeld grew from an idea of "a show about nothing" into a sacred pop culture icon not that there's anything wrong with that... The show follows the life of comedian Jerry Seinfeld and the exploits of his “short, quirky, bald guy” best friend, George Costanza (Jason Alexander), Jerry’s neurotic neighbor Cosmo Kramer (Michael Richards), and Jerry’s ex girlfriend Elaine (Julia Louis Dreyfus). Through the years, they’re joined by a loveable cast of characters that includes Newman, Uncle Leo, the Soup Nazi, Frank and Estelle Costanza, the Bubble Boy, and countless others… The Seinfeld DVD (Seasons 1 & 2) offers the very first glimpse into the world Jerry, beginning with The Pilot (episode 1) which was originally titled The Seinfeld Chronicles. The first scene involves Jerry commenting to George about a button on his shirt (the same conversation later takes place in the last scene of the series finale). These opening episodes provide insight into the development of the show’s four primary characters with conversations that range from George’s initial admission that he’d like to be an architect (episode 2) to Kramer’s propensity for get rich quick schemes like a make your own pizza pizzeria (episode 4). From day one, Seinfeld established itself as “must see TV,” creating such memorable episodes as “The Stock Tip,” “The Pony Remark,” “The Deal,” and “The Chinese Restaurant”. Interestingly, in the pilot episode of Seinfeld, Elaine’s character does not yet exist, and Kramer’s character (not yet named Kramer, but Feldman) is more of an unemployed, pathetic, shut in neighbor than the usual quirky and energetic Cosmo. Playing the role of the female in George and Jerry’s life is a wisecracking waitress named Claire (Lee Garlington) who never appears in later episodes. Nevertheless, this initial episode exhibits the flashes of brilliance that made Seinfeld a cultural phenomenon. The show is essentially about nothing. George and Jerry do some laundry… Jerry and his neighbor watch some TV… George and Jerry have some coffee… During that time, the dominant topic of conversation is a girl that Jerry met while taking his comedy act on the road. She’s coming to stay at his place, but he doesn’t know whether he should pull out a mattress for her or not. Feldman (Kramer), George, and Jerry debate the topic endlessly until the woman arrives and Jerry learns that it’s all irrelevant because she’s engaged… Below is a list of episodes included on the Seinfeld (Seasons 1 & 2) DVD: Episode 1 (Pilot: Good News, Bad News) Air Date: 07 05 1989 Episode 2 (The Stakeout) Air Date: 05 31 1990 Episode 3 (The Robbery) Air Date: 06 07 1990 Episode 4 (Male Unbonding) Air Date: 06 14 1990 Episode 5 (The Stock Tip) Air Date: 06 21 1990 Episode 6 (The Ex Girlfriend) Air Date: 01 23 1991 Episode 7 (The Pony Remark) Air Date: 01 30 1991 Episode 8 (The Jacket) Air Date: 02 06 1991 Episode 9 (The Phone Message) Air Date: 02 13 1991 Episode 10 (The Apartment) Air Date: 04 04 1991 Episode 11 (The Statue) Air Date: 04 11 1991 Episode 12 (The Revenge) Air Date: 04 18 1991 Episode 13 (The Heart Attack) Air Date: 04 25 1991 Episode 14 (The Deal) Air Date: 05 02 1991 Episode 15 (The Baby Shower) Air Date: 05 16 1991 Episode 16 (The Chinese Restaurant) Air Date: 05 23 1991 Episode 17 (The Busboy) Air Date: 06 26 1991

    Amazing Thai Recipe

Bamboo Shoots: Bamboo shoots are called for in many Thai recipes. In order to prepare a bamboo shoot for cooking you need to peel them and boil the white inner stalks for 30 minutes in water. If you are using canned bamboo shoots you will only need to boil them for 10 minutes, or if they are going into curries or soups, boiling might not be required. Basil (fresh): There are three types of basils used in Thai cooking; sweet, holy and lemon. Sweet basil is much easier to find because it is commonly used in western cooking. Holy basil has a spicier taste and can be recognized by it’s slightly purple leaves. Lemon basil has a lemony flavor and can be detected by its distinct lemony scent. If you can only find sweet basil you can compensate for holy or lemon basil by adding finely chopped chili peppers or a bit of lemon rind. Bergamot: Also known as kaffir lime leaves has a slightly limey flavor which goes well with all Thai dishes. Since this may be hard to find, granted lime rind can be used in its place although it is a poor substitute. Chili paste: This can be bought in bottles or tubes in almost any supermarket. Used for adding spice and flavor to most dishes, a particularly popular version by Thai cooks is burnt mild chili paste. Chinese mushrooms: Mushrooms are added to a lot of Thai cooking and many people chose to use the dried variety because they are cheaper and have just as much flavor and nutritional value. You will need to soak the mushrooms in warm water for 30 minutes before using them and the stems are usually discarded because of their tough nature. Coconut milk: Coconut milk can be bought in cans almost anywhere. If the recipe you are using calls for coconut cream scoop the harder white substance that has formed at the top of the can. If you need coconut milk, stir the can thoroughly before using. Curry Paste: While some people prefer to prepare their own curry pastes, many bottled curries are available at the supermarket. Most recipes use red, green or yellow curry. Fish sauce: Made from collecting the liquid off of fermenting salted fish, this pale, watery brown sauce is sometimes used to replace all the salt in recipes. It is very flavorful and compliments all Thai food. It is called for in many recipes but you can also use your imagination with it, as it is very versatile. Galangal: A close relative to ginger, is used in many curries and soups. Since it is quite rare to find fresh you will probably have to purchase it dry and soak it in water for 1 hour before using. Garlic: Thai garlic might be available in some Asian markets, however if you cannot find it, the Western variety will work just as well. Use the smaller, tighter cloves on your garlic head for Thai cooking because they are more flavorful and will not be over powered by the other herbs and spices used in your dish. Ginger: Easy to find and used quite often in modern cooking, ginger is extremely healthy and flavorful. It must be peeled before it is grated or chopped. Fresh ginger is much better than dried, although dried may be substituted if needed. Lemon grass: Lemon grass is one of the most commonly used items in Thai cooking. It is a long stalk that looks like a small leek. The hard outer portion should be removed and the lower, bulbous part is used. You can either add sliced pieces to your food while it is cooking and remove them before serving your dish, or you can blend them in a food processor so they can be consumed with the dish, which will give it more flavor. Palm Sugar: Some Thai recipes call for palm sugar which is available in some Asian markets as cellophane wrapped blocks. If palm sugar is unavailable you can substitute with dark brown sugar or real maple syrup. Rice: Thai people prefer long grain white Jasmine rice. This is a flavorful and aromatic rice that cools and compliments spicy Thai dishes. Rice papers: Used for making fresh Thai spring rolls, you can buy rice papers at any food store. To use soak papers (one at a time) in warmish water until they are soft and pliable, then dry off with paper towel and use immediately. Sesame Oil: A vegetable oil that comes from pressed sesame seeds and originated in East India. This is a very flavorful oil and works very well with Thai cooking. Preparation and cooking techniques: Vegetables: Vegetables used in Thai cooking should be cut as finely as possible. The idea is that the smaller they are chopped, the less time they will need to be cook, therefore retaining as much nutrients as possible. Stir frying: Most people have cooked a stir fry before, so will be familiar with this method of cooking. Oil should be poured into a wok and vegetables should be added over high heat while being constantly stirred. Vegetables should only be stir fried for a couple of seconds so they remain crisp and brightly colored. Mortar and Pestles: Perfect for making sauces, curry pastes and salads, every Thai cook should own a mortar and pestle preferably made out of clay or wood. Mincing: Since Thai cooking uses so many intensely flavorful ingredients they should all be chopped very finely so one flavor never overpowers the other. You should always use a very sharp knife for this. Roasting and grinding spices: When adding spices and herbs to your Thai dish you should always roast them by slowly heating each spice individually in pan until they begin to crackle and turn brown. When each spice is done roasting they should be ground very finely in a food processor or mortar.

HOW TO START AND OPERATE YOUR OWN VIDEO TAPING SERVICE This is a fabulously profitable business that's still infancy. And for sure, if you want a business that takes no special training, expensive office set up or large investment yet is capable of showing almost immediate profits this is it! Now is the ideal time to get started with your own Video Taping Service. Purchasing and learning how to operate, as well as maintain the necessary equipment, and the operating procedures have been so simplified that almost anyone with the ability to read, can study a video instruction manual for a couple of hours and immediately produce professional quality, highly marketable video tapes. Without a doubt, video tape technology has replace Super 8 home movies as the most desired memory saving system. One and two person video aping services around the country are reporting gross earnings of $50,000 to $100,000 per year. One operation we looked into, reported an income figure of $80,000 during the preceeding 12 month period. They were accepting taping jobs from all quarters and keeping 4 hired teams busy. Marketing imagination, organization, and attention to detail are the keys to success in operating this business. Ideas and request for a new things or events to tape and preserve for later playback/viewing, are coming in faster than one can list. Then, there are so many things to remember and minor details to take care of, that the only way to operate successfully is with a series of checklists..for the person selling the service as well as the man or woman on the recording camera. But don't let mentioning of details to remember, scare you off. On the contrary, you'll find video equipment easy and inexpensive to practice on, especially when compared to attaining a comparable degree of expertise with film. You can use the same tape over and over again, and this is definitely a business where the phrase "practice leads to perfection," applies without qualifications or reservations. To start a video taping service, You'll need a video "porta pack" recorder, and at least a half dozen tapes. Check around in your area. Start by "reading up" on all the available equipment used for video taping. A trip to your public library and few hours browsing thru the periodicals on video equipment should give you added interest and a basic indoctrination. Next, check out the suppliers listed in the yellow pages of your telephone directory. A few phone calls to those places listed, plus a few in person visits, should supply you with enough catalogs and "idea material" to keep you plenty busy for a week or more. These elementary learning steps are necessary as the foundation of your business. You should be able to buy a good quality video porta pak recorder for about $850, with blank tapes for $20 or less. When you buy, always dicker with the dealer explaining to him that you're in the process of establishing a video taping service, and if he will include a supply of tapes with the recorder, or at least give you an especially good price on them, you'll probably buy all your tapes from him. It may not be your regular way of buying things, but when you're starting a business, every dollar counts, so always shop around for the best prices. Once you have your video recorder, take it home and start practicing with it. Think of yourself as being on a job for a homeowner or an insurance company, taking a photographic inventory of the house and/or the occupant's possessions. Practice by making a tape record of your own household furnishings. Make a tape, then play it back and critique your work. Then do it again, and again, until you have a tape you can use in sales presentations to homeowners and insurance companies. Video tape recordings of this kind are becoming extremely popular with homeowners and insurance companies alike. Then, look thru your weekend newspaper and make a note of the girls announcing wedding dates. Open your telephone directory and call these girls on the phone. Ask them if they'd mind if you came to their wedding and make a video tape of it, without any obligation to them of course. So you go to the wedding, introduce yourself and practice making a video tape of the wedding ceremony. Take the tape home and critique it. Keep this up until you have a tape you're reasonably proud of, and then call the bride. Ask to come over and let her see the tape. Explain to her that you're just getting started in the business, and you simply want her comments and suggestions. Chances are, when she sees the tape, she'll want to buy it. While you're in this learning phase of your new business, visit an apartment building and arrange with the manager to make a video tape of her showing the apartment to you as a a potential renter. Contact, a couple of property management and real estate firms, and do the same thing with condominiums and houses for sale. You might want to listen in on the police radio frequency, and make tapes of auto accidents, particularly those involving injuries. Another idea might be the taping of golfers practicing at the local driving ranges. Other ideas include any kind of sports practice session, birthday parties, special anniversaries, baptisms, bar mitsvah's, publicity stories, sales presentations, and "fireside chats" by company presidents or general managers. These are just a few idea suggestions you might want to pursue. You may find a certain kind of video tapping assignment especially enjoyable and want to specialize in that area. Or you may want to leave the door open for any kind of assignment and handle each as the opportunity presents itself. Whatever you decide, there are a few "sure success" points to keep in mind as you begin to sell your services. Remember, the idea of having a video cassette system in one's home, is gaining in popularity every day. There area already some two million videocassette recorders in American Homes, with an estimated 100,000 being sold to new customers every month. Further estimates indicate that by 1990, at least one half of all U. S. households will own either a videocassette recorder or a videodisc player. All this means your market is growing and is expected to continue growing thru the end of this decade. Virtually everyone would like to see himself as a star in home movie. Thus, when you show him a video tape of himself in the starring role, he'll either buy the tape on the spot or want you to make a similar tape for him. Regardless of false modesty, everyone likes to show pictures of himself, and explain to his friends the different highlights of his or her life. With this understanding about your prospect in mind when you make a sales presentation, your closing rate should be quite close to 100 percent. The best way to sell your services is to run a regular ad in your area newspaper. Such an ad might be similar to this one: VIDEO TAPPING SERVICES Whatever your idea or assignment, we can handle it for you! No job too large or too small! We're experts at taping weddings, anniversaries, birthdays parties and other special occasions. Commercial assignments also welcomed. Your satisfaction is guaranteed, so give us a call 123 4567,right now! When you receive calls in response to this ad, your objective will be two fold: Find out what kind of taping job they have in mind, and set up an appointment to show them an example of the kinds of tapes you can produce for them. Show them an example of your work. Once you've met with them, and shown them a demonstration tape, you should have the sale in your pocket. Never meet with a prospect in a selling situation without some sort of demonstration tape to show him. Try to match the tape you show them, as closely to their wants and needs as possible. Wedding tapes you have made for prospective wedding clients, and shots of golf practice or instruction to golfing prospects. Besides an ad in the newspaper, and the yellow pages of your telephone directory, make copies of the ad and get it up on the bulletin boards in your market area. Send news and publicity releases to all the media in your area, definitely whenever you've got an unusual or special kind of assignment. Have some impressive business cards printed, and hand them out to whomever, and as often as you can. The slogan on your business card might read: Have Video Tape Recorder, Available for ANY kind of assignment You name it and I'll tape it... Radio and/or television advertising will probably be more expensive than the resulting job assignments will sustain, so be very cautious when considering this type of advertising. However, it will very definitely be advantageous for you to pursue guest interviews on just about any kind of broadcast talk show. Talk show appearances and free write ups about your business in your local newspapers are promotional angles to reach for at every opportunity. Always be on the lookout for promotional ideas and gimmicks that will result in area wide publicity for your services. The bottom line is simply this: Don't be adverse to creating a story or set of circumstances if it results in a talk show appearance or newspaper write up for you. How much should you charge for your services? Basically, the going rate in most large metropolitan area is about $50 per hour you spend on the assignment. Thus, you're going to have to learn to estimate pretty accurately just how long each job is going to take you to produce a quality recording. It's always a good idea to check out what other video taping services in your area, or in a comparably sized city in your neighboring states are charging. Newsletters and trade publications serving businesses of this type are available, however we don't know of any that have attained national prominence as of the date of this report. Check with your equipment supplier on any that he might know of... Success with a business of this kind does not require an office set up or any special education or training. You can start it on a part time basis from your home, and parlay it into a full time, very high profit profession. The prestige this business will afford you is similar to that of a doctor. Starting with a young couple's wedding, if you follow up on each sale properly, you'll probably end up making tapes for the birthdays of each of their children, school graduations, anniversaries, more birthdays, family histories, last wills & testaments, and into a whole new cycle with each generation. You will need imagination, an affinity for people and selling moxie. Imagination is important because in many instances, you'll have to suggest an idea for your taping services. Although just about everybody would like to have a taped record of some event or part of their life to pass along to future generations of their family, most will not be able to decide what to tape until you suggest something to them. You'll also find that almost no one is aware of even half your capabilities until you make suggestions. Taking pictures of people requires an ability to get along well with people get them to relax, and immediately feel comfortable in your presence. You've got to be persuasive while exercising a great deal of tact and diplomacy. Make friends easily and quickly. Be aware of, and understanding of wants, desires and ambitions. Actually, selling and getting along with people, are almost synonymous. Life is and on going program of selling yourself to achieve your own wants and ambitions. Read a few good books on the art of selling, such as: HOW TO SELL YOURSELF by Steve Girard; and HOW TO SELL ANYTHING TO ANYBODY by Tom Hopkins. remember, selling is really just a matter of recognizing someone's needs and then satisfying those needs with a product or service. Your customer will automatically accept it as fact, that you have the professional knowledge and equipment to fulfill their needs. All you have to do is reassure them, listen to their reasons for these needs, and in closing the sale, become a good friend to them. And that's it the plan can enable you to get started with your own Video Taping Service. By following our suggestions, and with a bit of energy as well as persistence, you should be able to begin with very little start up investment and quickly begin to realize the fruits of your own profitable business. If you have any questions, or run into special problems feel free to call me or drop me a line. Having laid it all out for you, the rest is up to you Your future is in your own hands...

What You Need To Know About Emergency Contraceptives

We live in the modern world, and with modernization comes a change in the way society thinks. The then prudish outlook on sex has been replaced by a more liberated mindset that is open to the idea of casual sex. It is because of this change that more and more contraceptive products are being released into the market. One of the more popular birth control product are emergency birth control pills. Emergency contraception Emergency birth control pills, also referred to as “morning after” pills, refer to contraceptive pills that are taken after sex with the intention of preventing pregnancy. It is used occasionally, when primary means of birth fails or when no other means of contraception are unavailable at the time of intercourse. These pills were designed to be taken withing seventy two hours of having sex, with a second dose to follow after twelve hours. As compared to abortion pills, emergency birth control pills aim to prevent pregnancy from occurring, and not terminate an existing pregnancy. Emergency birth control methods act before implantation takes place. It is because of this fact that emergency contraceptives were accepted both medically and legally. It is considered a hormonal birth control method as it may contain estrogen, progestin, or both. It differs from the typical birth control pills in terms of the doses of the hormones they contain. Just like in the regular birth control pill, the estrogen stops the ovaries from releasing eggs, the progestin prevents the sperm from reaching the egg and prevents implantation of a fertilized egg. On average, the combination emergency birth control pill decreases the chances of becoming pregnant by seventy five percent. The more preferred type of emergency contraceptive pill is the progestin only pill. On average, reduces the risk of having an accidental pregnancy by eighty nine percent. Effectivity increases to ninety five percent when taken twenty four hours after having intercourse. Although helpful, these medications also come with side effects, these side effects include: nausea, vomiting, breast tenderness, fatigue, abdominal pain, irregular bleeding or spotting, headaches, and in some cases, dizziness. Most women prefer using the progestin only pill as it has relatively lesser side effects than that of the combined estrogen and progestin emergency birth control pill. Using emergency contraceptive pills is generally safe as it does not bear any harmful effect to an already growing baby inside a mother's womb. Also, keep in mind that even if these pills are effective, they will not protect you against sexually transmitted disease. Obtaining emergency birth control pills is generally easy. For women seventeen years and below, emergency contraceptive pills can be bought on a prescription basis. But for women 18 years and older, these are approved for sale even without prescription at any drugstore, all that is required is an id to prove your age. Choosing to engage in casual, unprotected sex is risky. It leave you open not only to accidental or unwanted pregnancies, it also leaves you at risk of acquiring sexually transmitted diseases. So always keep in mind that aside from using contraceptive methods, it is best to keep the number of sexual partners down to a minimum and to know your partner's sexual history in order to also keep yourself disease free.

    2006 Chicago White Sox Preview

2005 Overview: After waiting 88 years for a World Series title, the Chicago White Sox and 2nd year Manager Ozzie Guillen entered the 2005 season on a mission. After an impressive rookie managerial season the Venezuela born Guillen led his troops to a division leading 99 63 record. The White Sox simply dominated the postseason losing only 1 game out of a total of 13 played first by sweeping the defending champion Boston Red Sox and then by rolling past the Angels 4 games to 1. Chicago went home from the Fall Classic against NL Champion Astros with a clean 4 game sweep grabbing their first World Series title since 1917. The White Sox fielded one of the stronger offensive lineups in 2005 with 1st baseman Paul Konerko (.283 40 100) and outfielder Jermaine Dye (.274 31 86) leading the charge. Outfielder Carl Everett (.251 23 87), 3rd baseman Joe Crede (.252 22 62) and newly acquired catcher A. J. Pierzynski (.257 18 56) also helped level out the rest of the 2005 lineup. It’s often said that ‘pitching wins championships’ and in 2005 Chicago assembled one of the best starting rotations in baseball. Newly acquired Jose Contreras (15 7 3.61) and Freddy Garcia (14 8 3.87) sparkled in their new White Sox uniforms, while Jon Garland (18 10 3.50) and Mark Buehrle (16 8 3.12) rounded out the dominating starting staff. Newly acquired Reliever Dustin Hermanson (2 4 2.04) performed nicely in the bullpen saving 24 of 29 chances and doubling his output from the previous year with the San Francisco Giants. Off Season Moves: The White Sox did very little in the off season to change their team chemistry. Their biggest moves included re signing first baseman Paul Konerko to a five year, $60 million deal (he turned down $65 million from the Orioles) and trading for slugger Jim Thome (7 HRS in 59 games in 2005), who is scheduled to start the 2006 campaign as Chicago’s DH. The White Sox also strengthened an already strong rotation with a trade for Javier Vazquez (11 15 4.42) they also acquired a versatile utility man in Rob Mackowiak (.292 9 58) from the Pirates. 2006 Analysis: Guillen and company seem to have a solid blueprint for success and it’s hard to find many flaws in their off season strategy. The only real weak point appears to be centerfield since at least for now it looks as if Brian Anderson (.176 in 34 AB in 2005) will take over for Aaron Rowand (.270 13 69) who was traded to Philly in the deal for Thome. Expect Thome (.274 42 105 in a full season in 2004) to blossom as a DH, saving himself from the wear and tear of playing 1st base everyday. He’s a player perfectly suited for the DH role and the White Sox were wise to trade for him. Thome should provide some nice offense alongside Konerko, Pierzynski, Dye and Crede. Chicago’s pitching in 2006 should be stronger (if that’s even possible!) with Javier Vazquez joining the rotation. Vazquez could prove to be another interesting addition to an already powerful staff. Much like the acquisitions of Contreras and Garcia in 2004, the White Sox are hoping Vazquez will fit in nicely and produce better numbers then last season.

    My Very Own Guest House

I went to a women's writing workshop retreat awhile ago for some much needed R and R. It was wonderful. We were asked to read a couple of poems and write from that. Here's the first a poem by Rumi translated by Coleman Barks. The Guest House This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor. Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they're a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still, treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight. The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in. Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond. My Very Own Guest House When I remember what Rumi reminds us – that all my thoughts and feelings are welcome guests – that they come as a “guide from beyond”, I relax and learn what is there to learn. Earlier today someone said while giving wise counsel, “What you resist, persists.” I can see the image. I can see a hand pushing back on mine. What happens? What happens when I keep not wanting to look at a guest – I want to turn her away? If she can’t come in the front door, she’ll come in the back or even the window or chimney. If she is sent by Above to offer me the gift and blessing to learn something new about how I am or how I can be or what I am doing that is not good for me, thank God for her persistence. What would these 64 years be worth if I had not learned by virtue of my self hatred that I am loveable? What would they be worth if I had not learned that forgiveness frees me of the negative energy ties binding me to those that hurt me? What if I hadn’t learned that I can have love and respect and be valued “above rubies” by a beautiful, kind, intelligent and creative man? What if I had stayed lost in pot or food or abusive relationships? What if I had not healed my very sick body? What if I had allowed my ever persistent ego to keep me right instead of happy and peaceful? What if I stayed hurt and broken and didn’t learn that with each experience came gifts of learning and love? “This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival.” I wonder who’d packing her suitcase this very minute having been sent from Above to guide me to my next beyond?
