    Delaware Casinos

One of the smaller states in the union, Delaware is probably known more for its beaches than its casinos. Bordering the Atlantic Ocean, Dover is the state capital of Delaware and the population of this tiny state is about 783,600, according to the U. S. Census. It borders New Jersey, Maryland and Pennsylvania and measures in at 96 miles long. However, where Delaware is short on space, it is certainly long on fun. Between the historical sights, beaches and more, there is definitely fun to be had in Delaware. Delaware casinos are no exception. There are not an abundance of them, as there are in other states, but where they lack in numbers, Delaware casinos make up for in fun, fun, and more fun! The most popular Delaware casino is Dover Downs, located in the state’s capital city. Spanning more than 91,000 sq. ft., Dover Downs features more than 2,500 slot machines, making it one of the state’s largest casinos. Dover Downs also features live racing. Speaking of racing, Harrington Raceway and Delaware Park Racetrack & Slots, make up the other two Delaware casinos. There may be smaller facilities, but these three are the biggest Delaware casinos. Harrington Raceway is located in Harrington, Delaware: it features driving and horseracing as well as video lottery machines. Of all of the Delaware casinos, Harrington Raceway is one of the more well rounded casinos found throughout the state. There are more than 1100 different slot machines as well as some of the best horse racing in this region. Lastly, Delaware Park Racetrack & Slots completes the trio of Delaware casinos. This Delaware casino also features an array of slot machines as well as live horse racing and more. This Delaware casino also features a restaurant and the space for the slot machines covers two levels. Like the Harrington Raceway, Delaware Park Racetrack & Slots caters mainly to a crowd that enjoys horseracing and is one of the more lucrative casinos in the region. Delaware casinos may not be high in number as other larger cities or states. However, the three Delaware casinos that do operate inside the state line have grandiose facilities that are ready to tickle the average customer’s fancy and make for an exciting day at the slots, races and more. What this state lacks in numbers, it certainly makes up for in fun. Delaware casinos offer gamblers an opportunity to be involved in two major sides of gambling — slots and racing. Finally, Delaware casinos allow gamblers to enjoy spending time betting money, winning money, and having fun with one of their favorite sources of entertainment.

    Swimming And Back Pain

Swimming is considered a beneficial activity in alleviating pain. Whenever athletes experience an injury, swimming can be one way to keep active while avoiding undue stress on the swimmer’s back. However, there are instances when swimming can also result in back pain and back injuries. Back problems and lower back injuries can be caused by certain swimming strokes. To avoid these incidences, recognizing the following factors while performing particular strokes may help: 1.) Rotating the head too far up while doing the freestyle can result in neck and back injuries. Swimmers normally roll their heads upwards to the right to breathe out of the water on the upstroke of the right arm. It is advisable rotate the head upwards only within the axis of the body, and keeping the head down the rest of the time when not going up for air. 2.) If not conditioned properly, the anterior neck muscles become subject to stress while doing the backstroke. This stroke is one that has to be performed gradually to avoid excessive muscle strain. 3.) Flip turning can have an adverse effect on the neck and back muscles if the head is overextended from the body and not tucked in. 4.) While doing the breaststroke, the head and neck is held still, with only a minimal head raise to take in air. There are several means of alleviating pain symptoms in a problematic back. Some conservative approaches to relief include stretching, applying ice, and taking over the counter medications like ibuprofen. With more severe pain, other forms of treatment may involve sessions with a chiropractor or physical therapist. A chiropractor can manipulate the affected area to relieve symptoms for most sufferers, while a physical therapist can develop a specific program of drills and exercises that can strengthen muscles, enhance flexibility, and decrease pain. Wearing a back brace may limit painful movement while giving the injured muscle a chance to recover. Constant back pain signals the need to cease all swimming activities consult a doctor for an appropriate diagnosis. Continuing to swim despite the pain is a detriment to healing and will only make the condition worse. The resulting severe pain may even require surgery to correct any back irregularities. Surgery is only undertaken in the very rare instances of serious symptomatic conditions; however, there are cases when not even surgery can undo grave back ailments. In general, swimming is a beneficial activity that may alleviate symptoms of back pain. It is not unduly stressful nor does it involve motions that weigh heavily on the back. In fact, it is a preferable exercise option for people who want to avoid neck or back strain, or aggravate any symptoms of other ailments they may have. It is advised, however, to take lessons in the proper safety measures and swimming techniques to refrain from repetitive or awkward movements that may lead to back injury.

    Education Plans

The third biggest financial goal for a family is saving for a college education. Buying a house and retirement are the first two goals. With the cost of higher education on the rise, parents are beginning to try and set aside money for education as soon as a child is born. There are two popular federal and state sponsored plans that make saving for college easy: the Coverdell and the 529 plan. The Coverdell Education Savings Account The Coverdell is a federally sponsored plan that helps you to set aside money for higher education expenses. These expenses include tuition, fees, books and supplies, and even room and board. The annual contributions are not tax deductible, making the withdrawals tax free as long as they are used to pay for eligible education costs. There are limits to the amount of annual contributions that can be made each year. The Coverdell is established as a custodial account, set up by the parent or another adult to pay for the education expenses of a designated beneficiary. The child must be under the age of 18 to establish an account. All balances must be spent within 30 days of the child's 30th birthday. Any financial institution that handles IRAs can assist you in setting up a Coverdell, including banks, investment companies and brokerages. The Coverdell is like an IRA in that it is an account. You can put your account funds into any investment you want stocks, bonds, mutual funds and certificates of deposit are just a few options. You can establish as many Coverdell accounts as you want to for a child. For example, you could have one account at your local bank and one at a brokerage. Some plans have many fees associated with them. Make sure that the management fees for the multiple accounts don't cancel out your overall return. If your child decides not to go to college, he or she will lose a great deal of money. When he turns 30, he must withdraw the balance of the account within 30 days. Any money withdrawn that isn't used for educationally eligible expenses is taxed and charged a 10 % IRS penalty. If your child decides not to go to college, that doesn't mean that his or her child won't. The child can roll the full balance into another Coverdell plan for another family member, including siblings, nieces and nephews and sons and daughters. 529 College Savings Plans These state sponsored 529 plans are named after the federal tax code section that provides for their use. All 50 states and the District of Columbia offer 529 plans. The contributions to the plan are not tax deductible, but your withdrawals are tax free when you use the money for a qualified educational expense. 529 plans fall under two categories: prepaid tuition and savings/investment plans. The prepaid tuition plan allows you to purchase units of tuition for any state college or university under today's price. You are buying a semester of attendance for a child. What you buy today will be good for any future date, no matter how tuition rates rise. With private and out of state colleges, the child's prepaid tuition does not include the rise in tuition costs. For example, if you buy two years of college tuition for an out of state tuition, you may only receive a single semester in ten years. Either the beneficiary or the contributor must reside in the state that the 529 is formed in. With savings plans, an account is opened and investments are chosen within the account. If you start the plan when a child is young, you can choose some aggressive investments for long term growth. As the child ages, you can move your investments into more conservative options. The withdrawals are tax free if they are used to pay for college expenses. These expenses can include tuition, books and room and board. An easy way to think about a 529 savings plan is as a 401(k) dedicated to educational expenses. As with a 401(k), there are many different investment choices. Many states programs are open to nonresidents, so look around for the best plans. If your child decides not to go to college you have three options. You can hang on to the savings plan in case your child decides to attend college at a later date. The account can be transferred to another family member for college expenses. You could also cash out the account and just take the loss. Most states will charge a penalty of 10% of the earnings for any withdrawal not used for education. On top of this, a federal penalty of 10% will be charged also. There is no penalty for withdrawals due to death or disabled status. The tax free advantages of a college savings plan makes 529 plans beneficial, but they aren't right for everyone. If you have a 529 prepaid tuition plan, applying for financial aid is affected by reducing your financial aid on a dollar per dollar basis. Low income families, who are often eligible for large amounts of financial aid, are advised not to participate in 529 plans. Coverdell plans will also decrease the amount of financial aid available, but only by about 5 to 6% of the account's value. College savings plans are great for families that will not qualify for financial aid or only qualify for loans. Many times a family doesn't have enough money to pay for college, but has too much money to get help. The tax free status on 529 plans will end in 2010, but many advisors expect that Congress will extend it.

A Guide To Pepper Spray Laws

Pepper spray is the most popular self defense weapon, but it is not legal in all states. At the time of publication of this writing, common pepper spray law was that you are allowed to carry it in all states. In California, the largest can of pepper spray you are legally allowed to carry is 2.5 oz. In Michigan, New York, Wisconsin, and Hawaii, pepper spray law says you are allowed carry it. There are, however, concentration limits and other restrictions. If you live in one of these states or plan to visit, be sure to carry a pepper spray that is sold as “Michigan Formula,” “Wisconsin Legal Pepper Spray,” and so on. If you live in or plan on visiting Massachusetts and you want to carry pepper spray legally, their pepper spray law says you must get a FID (Firearms Identification Card). All you do is go to your local Massachusetts police station, show two forms of ID, fill out a form, pay $2, and wait a week. When you get your FID, keep it on your person (and of course, to make the FID useful, keep your pepper spray on your person as well). Pepper Spray Litigation From time to time, civilians and law enforcement officers have managed to use pepper spray excessively or irresponsibly. Even though pepper spray is non lethal, it does hurt to go through getting sprayed with pepper spray. If you feel you have been unfairly attacked with pepper spray, you can force litigation. Concerned citizens across the country have also noted that police offers have been known to use pepper spray on people when use of it was clearly gratuitous. Litigation has been pressed, and the media have touched on the subject to a small extent. As a result, the Justice Department commissioned a report about the benefits and dangers of pepper spray, resulting in a more education law enforcement system.

    Cultivating Intuition

Ralph Waldo Emerson, the American philosopher said "The primary wisdom is intuition." It is not just a theory, it is part of who we are. Without training we can happen upon it occasionally and we usually like the results when we follow our intuition. What would happen if we learned to tap into our own innate intuition on a daily basis? Why don't we? As Carl Jung said "intuition does not denote something contrary to reason, but something outside of the province of reason." It is real and it is not in our heads. And our head can't control it. There are many ways we sabotage our own natural intuition all the time. We don't give it a chance. How? We hurry so much that we don't take time to listen to our intuition. We need to slow down or just be still to hear our intuition. We don't look for the symbolism in things or events nor do we develop our symbolic ability. We need to be open to possibilities. We let our ego control us, and insist on being in charge/controlling everything around us. The ego is threatened by the presence of your intuition. We confuse intuition with fear and wishful thinking. When we stay in our heads and let our emotions control us, we lose the gift of what our intuition can offer. We continue to associate with people who don't believe in intuition or want to use it. Intuition is contagious. But so is a lack of intuition. We think we can force intuition just like we can pedal a bike or pump weights. Intuition comes where and when invited, but not on demand. We insist on staying in our logical, rational, analytical thinking as the only way to find solutions to problems or make decisions or find solutions. When we are centered, using all our emotional intelligence tools and habits, intuition can flood us with many creative alternatives that the intellect could not conceive. We listen to our ego when it tells us it can handle the problem or situation itself. We allow the ego to reject the insights that intuition offers. We believe we don't need to learn tools, skills and habits to master our intuition. By getting trapped in the endless loop of our heads, we never get a chance to develop our intuition to see how good it can become. One of the most brilliant and analytical minds of the twentieth century, Albert Einstein said, "The real valuable thing is intuition." If this famous and rational mind can credit intuition so highly, maybe we should give it a try too. Who knows, with a little practice, a little coaching and a few successes, perhaps we too will start to see the wisdom of using this 'thing' called intuition.

    Iron Palm Part 1

Iron Palm Q&A With Sigung Richard Clear Part 1 Q. What is the history of your iron palm training? A. My Original instructor was Tyrone Jackson who was the senior disciple of Dr Fred Wu. Dr Wu was a senior disciple under Lee Ying Arng. Lee Ying Arng was an amazing and great Kung Fu Master from the last generation who eventually lived in Hong Kong. There he was the President of the Inner System Martial Arts Association, President of the Hong Kong Acupuncture Research Centre, and Vice President of the Hong Kong Chinese Martial Arts Association. He was a Doctor of Chiropractic and Acupuncture and studied Wu Tang Kung Fu, Internal Arts and Dim Mak including Dian hsuhe (Delayed death touch) from many famous Masters. He was a senior disciple under Yang Chen Fu and studied Mind Fist (Yee Chuan/I Chuan) from Professor Wang Shian Jie the Founder of I Chuan. He studied Dim Mak and Dian hsuhe for over 10 years. In 1968 Lee wrote the book “Iron Palm in 100 Days” that was reprinted about half a dozen times. In that book Lee refers to numerous variations and schools of Iron Palm training and other specialty internal palm methods that he taught and Lee explains how to train several methods of Iron Palm. In his book Lee shows a section of the “Yi Chin Ching or Sinew Changing” classic temple manuscript and he explains that the classic has a section which explains an Iron Palm training method similar to the “straight forward” or Direct method. I began training in Kung Fu in 1979 and I began training with Tyrone Jackson in 1984. One of the first things that Tyrone did was to help me modify the Kung Fu forms I already had and make them much more applicable for Dim Mak striking methods and placement. This included learning the points and meridians and Iron Palm. ...To be continued in “Iron Palm Part 2”

What You Must Do When Moving To Spain

It’s really no surprise that many people would have an interest in living in Spain. After all, Spain has an amazing climate and year long temperature, which actually is a driving force for people in Northern Europe to move to this region and cozy up to the colorful Spanish culture. Another reason that people will commonly move to Spain is for work or family related reasons such as a job transfer or whatnot. In this case you’ll have to become knowledgeable about various topics such as work permits as well residency permits. Also, you’ll need to know the language of the land, which obviously is Spanish, so studying for this beforehand would be a bright idea. Regarding relocation to Spain for job purposes, you can actually make this a much more smooth transition by utilizing the services of one of the many relocation companies. These are companies that offer a staff of multi lingual individuals to assist you in such tasks as finding your home, finding a school for your kids, help with registering vehicles, as well as getting your residency permits. They can also help you extensively in becoming familiar with different aspects of the Spanish culture itself. If you do have to begin working in Spain, you’ll need to obtain certain permits for this. The different kinds of permits depends on the amount of time you’ll be doing the work, as well as the type of work that you’ll actually be doing. For those conducting seasonal work, you’ll need a permit known as the Type A Permit. This type of permit is good for 9 months and is usually limited only to certain geographical areas. A permit that’s given for a longer period of time is the Type B permit, which is actually the initial work permit. These are for specific types of professions as well as specific areas. These are valid for 1 year but can be renewed for two years max. Now, a C type of permit is good for any type of job. These are region restricted at all and are usually valid for up to three years. The next type of permit is the Type D permit, which is for those people who are self employed. These also, like the Type B permit are valid for one year but can be made valid for two years at renewal if necessary. These as well can be limited only to certain geographic areas A permit that’s valid for up to three years, that has no geographic limitation is the E permit. Type E Permits have no geographic limitation. These are valid for up to three years. If after a Type C or Type E work permit expires and you still need a permit to work that has no limit on geography then you can file for a permanent work permit, which is for both employed and self employed individuals.
