    Distillation From Plants And Roots

Aniseed flavored spirits Some 1,500 years before Christ, these licorice flavored spirits were valued as healing agents by the Egyptians. In the nineteenth century, absinthe, a potent aniseed aperitif distilled from wormwood, became a highly fashionable drink on both sides of the Atlantic, but intemperate enjoyment of it proved dangerous because it often led to madness or death. Consequently, early in the twentieth century, it was banned in many countries. In the meanwhile, however, a plethora of "benign" successors developed; aniseed drinks which, in France, are known as pastis. They are based on star anise, with the essential oils being distilled and then mixed with sugar, pure alcohol, and various flavorings, such as mint, lemon balm, herbes de Provence, and licorice. Pernod and Ricard are among the well known brands from France (now also available as an alcohol free drink), and anisette is a spiced liqueur. Creek ouzo and Turkish raki are also members of this big family of aniseed flavored spirits. Ouzo is a sweet aniseed drink at 80 to 90 proof. Raki tastes dry and spicy, is not as sweet as ouzo, and is available at 80 to 100 proof. Arrak Similar to rum, this Asian spirit is distilled from sugarcane molasses with the addition of Indonesian red rice. Arrak is aged in oak barrels before it is bottled. The most respected variety comes from Batavia, in Indonesia, but similar drinks using a variety of ingredients, such as dates, also come from Goa in India, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. Cachaca This is a Brazilian spirit distilled directly from the juice of the sugarcane. The best known cachaga is the straw colored, clear Pitu. It has a soft, mild aroma and is 82 proof. Sake Many people would not consider a Japanese meal complete without a bottle of this clear, usually straw colored, fermented rice spirit. Even though sake, which is the Japanese national drink, is often referred to as wine, its production process is more like that of beer. Sake tastes similar to sherry and has an alcohol content of only 16 to 17 percent by volume, or about 35 proof. Tequila Mexico's number one spirit, drunk since the time of the Aztecs, is distilled from the blue agave cactus. Clear, white tequila, also called silver tequila, is bottled immediately after distillation. Cold tequila, or tequila anejo, gets its golden brown color from several years storage in oak barrels, during which time the flavor also mellows and becomes smoother. Most brands of tequila are about 90 proof. Mexican laws specify that only tequila produced in a specific geographical area around the town of the same name can be labeled as such. Rum Formerly the drink of bootleggers, pirates, smugglers, and slave traders rum was for centuries the most commonly traded contraband. The home of rum is in the Caribbean islands of Jamaica, martinique, Puerto Rico, and Cuba. Here, as in the past — and among the atlantic coastal countries of Central and South America — rum and sugar are important exports. Yet, the varieties of rum produced on the different islands differ from each other as much in terms of aroma taste and bouquet as do the wines of California's Napa Valley, or does from Tennessee sour mash. The exact recipe for rum production is always the distiller's secret. What all types of rum have In common, however, is their raw material — the brown, viscous molasses by product of sugarcane refining. After distillation, rum is clear and colorless. For light rum to remain clear, it is first matured in pale ash wood barrels for only one year and is then transferred to stainless steel tanks for additional aging. Dark rum, on the other hand, is left to mature for years in dark, wooden casks for five to seven years, where it develops its golden or brownish color and a full flavored body. Caramel is also added to some brands to intensify the color. In between light and dark rum is a grade called gold, or amber, which is aged for three years. Light rum not only looks lighter than dark rum, it also has a much more delicate taste than the latter. For this reason, light rum blends intensify superbly with other ingredients such as fruit juices, liqueurs, and lemonades in cocktails, without concealing its own taste. Its slight flavor evaporates very quickly though, so light rum is not so well suited to hot punches and grogs. Mezcal Mezcal is a similar drink distilled from a different variety of the agave cactus, but it does not have the same labeling regulations. Contrary to popular belief, mezcal is the Mexican drink that traditionally contained a worm in the bottom of the bottle, not tequila.

    Professional Screenplay Formatting Tips

As the number of screenwriters increases around the world, literary agents, screenwriting contests and film and TV productions companies are bombarded with more and more material. To make matters worse, tens of thousands of new media graduates enter the fray every year. The sheer number of specs flying around the industry is simply overwhelming. The Writer’s Guild of America gets 50,000 new registrations a year alone! Now some of this material is good. Most of it, though, is not. And unfortunately that overwhelming majority of scripts that are poorly formatted, poorly written, way too long or just downright amateur has created a generation of angry and jaded professional readers. Now you might say, “What do I care what some lowly reader working a desk in the bowels of CAA’s dream making machine thinks of my masterpiece!? He’s just a reader!” Well you better care, because that kid is the gatekeeper to your future, and if you don’t make him or her happy and confident that your are indeed a professional quality screenwriter the minute they lay eyes on your script, you’ve already lost half the battle. Don’t believe me? Okay, look at it this way... It is a well known fact that at every agency and production company there are three piles of scripts. Pile “A”: Screenwriters they personal know and have respectable credits (not some short film or that ‘feature’ you made with your mates). We’re talking ‘Sold’ writers here. Pile “B”: Screenwriters recommend by other agencies, lawyers or companies. Pile “C”: General submissions from people they don’t know AKA YOU! The A Pile usually gets read quickly by someone with power and experience. Often the agent / producer herself. The B Pile is read by the agent’s top assistant or a junior partner / creative executive at the firm. The C Pile is usually read by an intern, office boy, or fresh out of film school, wet behind the ears newbie. Now don’t despair. That office boy may have no power, but what he does have is a burning desire to find that diamond in the rough (your script!) and thus move his way up. So what can you do to impress this kid? Good question. Let’s ask one: I feel the need.... the need for speed! Damn straight I do. I’m a reader you see. I’m a 22 year old gal in Hollywood who just got off work on Friday... But before I can let my overworked, underpaid self really cut loose and enjoy the weekend, I’ve got to read freaking 5 scripts AND have coverage of them ready for Monday’s afternoon story meeting! Yeah, yeah, I can read them by the pool, but when I reach into my beach bag and pull out some yahoo’s 125 page rom com, my heart sinks. My first instinct is to simply chuck it in the deep end, but since it’s my job, I’ll at least read enough to fake the coverage later with a big ole PASS / PASS on both script and writer. Now for you boys and girls who don’t know what PASS means... this isn’t high school. PASS is not a good thing. PASS means... FAIL. As in you failed to impress me, I’ve duly logged such in our database (which we share with most of the other agencies in the business), and my company will most likely never read anything from you ever again. Certainly not this script, no matter how many times you tell us you’ve ‘re worked’ it. Just remember scripts are like movies. Funny how that works, huh? They should be read in a single sitting. Furthermore, reading them should be fun and entertaining. And there’s nothing entertaining about a 125 page script that takes 3 hours to read! Ideally your screenplay should have that young gal frantically flipping pages, as she blindly paws for her mohito, she is so engrossed. And what makes readers engrossed? All together now... SPEED. Pure unadulterated speed!

Building A Hyper Responsive Opt In List

Making a Hyper Responsive Opt Work Getting the attention of people to buy a certain product is challenging. There were times in the past when telemarketing was at times more of a nuisance rather a convenience to people. The same goes for sales people who would go house to house and show a product and were simply turned down. Now as people have approached the digital age, there is a faster way of doing it as that is through hyper responsive opt. This is basically creating a mailing list and sending the information to people which will contribute to sales. A person can do it in the office or at home and it can only be done if one is serious about making money online. This can work for people who want to do it full time or for those who just want some extra cash and do it part time. Here are some benefits and features of using hyper responsive opt; 1. With a click of the mouse, the product a person wants to sell can get to the customer in lightning speed. Surveys have shown that the average person will only buy a product only after being exposed to the ad or the message after 7 times. By establishing a customer base via the internet, one no longer has to search for new ones that much but rely on the existing clientele to further spread the word and increase sales. 2. Some people will not immediately buy the product that is offered but by keeping the names in the mailing list, it is possible that when a product of interest is on hand, the person will then buy. 3. When a site has been made, it can be used to bring in additional revenue as new people who want to join the business can be charged for advertising. 4. This can also be used to propose joint ventures with other people making the business grow further. To give further detail how it works, here is the step by the step process of hyper responsive opts; · The first thing to do is to determine what customers need. It should be a product or a service that should provide a solution of some kind that will improve the quality of life either at home or at work. Marketing a product especially new ones takes time and money to establish itself. Profit is not made in the first sale but occurs when the customer decides to buy again or through repeat sales. · The next is to do the proper research. If the business is done with a group of people or a single proprietorship, it is best to brainstorm for the best possible brand or product name. It should be catchy and will easily be remembered. Given that there are probably others who have been in the business longer, it is best to think of other names just in case it can no longer be used. · A product of good quality should be sold at a decent price. Sometimes, the product one makes is already available in the market. To be competitive, one must figure out a way to convince people as to why this product is better than the other leading brands. What features does it have that the competitor doesn’t? What makes it unique and what service can it give as well? · Just like a normal business, one must acquire the right equipment and machines for the job. These could be merchandise that is either physical or electronic and an online ordering system. To be successful, one should be sure that the goods that a customer will order can be delivered on time. If there are any problems, a customer support staff or system should be ready to cater to that. One does not need a wonder product to make it work. All it takes is a list of people who one can contact without being accused of spamming. Soon, this will get the attention of the right people and sales should start coming in. Any business big or small must maximize marketing to get the message across. Online business is just one of the new ways of making money. It is up to the person to find that need and take advantage of it.

Why Do We Have To Bow So Much

In many karate schools around the world the traditional practice of bowing is being continued regardless of the country of origin and of whether the bow matches that country’s particular culture. The very act of stepping into a karate dojo or a Taekwondo dojang often means that you have entered into a mini cultural experience that you never expected. Some people find these practices quaint and educational, others find them downright offensive. This article attempts to explain the primary reasons for bowing in traditional Japanese culture and therefore in your Japanese style of martial arts. If you study Korean or Chinese styles it won’t hurt to read on as many of these customs are relevant to most Asian countries and martial arts. Karate originated on the island of Okinawa, part of the Ryukyu archipelago, which now belongs to Japan. In Japan bowing is as much a part of formal culture as the handshake is in western culture. Although the Japanese are increasingly using the handshake because of international business, the bow is still a very important part of Japanese etiquette. Bowing is therefore an integral part of a Karate lesson. We begin and end each lesson with formal etiquette including several bows and we acknowledge our opponent before and after each encounter with a bow. As Karate is part of traditional Japanese culture many instructors believe it is only fitting that they continue those traditions and make their lessons a reflection of how a lesson would be led in Japan. Generally the rule of thumb for bowing is that the more senior the person to whom you are bowing, both in age and rank, the deeper the bow. So for example, if a 14 year old bows to a 40 year old then the bow should be lower than if the 40 year old bowed to the 14 year old. Also a green belt should bow lower to a brown belt than a brown belt would bow to a green belt. The gray area comes when you have a 14 year old black belt and a 40 year old beginner. Who should bow the lowest? Well hopefully common sense will prevail and both parties will realize that the adult is still the superior person in terms of experience and therefore should still be treated with respect. However it would also be appropriate for the adult in question to acknowledge the child’s achievement and prowess and bow a little lower than normal to show his respect. As far as we Westerners are concerned, the complexities of the social nuances regarding the bow in Japan are far too involved for us to show any real competency, unless we have direct experience living in Japan for several years. Therefore the best thing for us to do in the dojo is to simply follow the traditional etiquette and bow to one another in an unforced and comfortable manner and let that suffice. A lower bow can be saved for the obvious age and rank differences but other than that a bow of similar depth would be appropriate in most cases. For more information on formal etiquette and other important information you should know if you’re planning on getting into the martial arts be sure to download my FREE Report, “Beginners Guide to Karate." You can find it at freekarateinformation. com. Good luck and best wishes on your journey in karate.

    Blogging For Dollars

There have been a lot of different articles written over the last couple of years about the concept of blogging for dollars that involve making money just from blogging. Many people believe that it can be done and in fact many have done it and there are many others that believe that the people making money from blogging are an exception to the general rule that nobody can truly hope to make money. Regardless of who is wrong and who is right, if you look at the concept of blogging for dollars from a theoretical standpoint, it is definitely one that makes sense. This is because the blog has the packaging of all of the different things that you need in order to make money. First and foremost, blogs have a built in content management system. This allows you to easily post new items to the blog, have your viewers read them and even have them comment and start an interesting discussion regarding any of the posts that you might have made. When you have new product launch, or affiliate products, which you want to review or comment on, you post it in the blog to start an interesting conversations to attract people into your blogs, and when viewers find your comments interesting will start to make their purchases. In the content business it is all about getting people to come back to you repeatedly so that you can make money off their page views and the blog is an easy way to keep people coming back by constantly offering them fresh content. In addition to that, it is very easy to customize blogs. While it does require knowledge of HTML and PHP, for the most part there are easy things to learn that you can use to get started right away. It is impressive to think about that, because when you consider the construction of a content website from scratch, what you are going to find is that the people that construct it have to labour very hard in order to get everything up and running. If you don't mind to spend some money and using someone else's design, with a blog you can be up and running in moments and save yourself all that hassle and trouble. Also, because it is so easy to customize blogs, it is also easy to add multiple revenue streams to them. If you are interested in revenue streams for your blogs aside from Google AdSense or a similar product, running them is going to be quite easy for you to do in a blog. You might have to completely change the layout of a content website to get the same thing done, but a blog can have them integrated in minutes. It is really a fantastic thing to do. So all in all, the theory behind blogging for dollars is quite sound and indeed if you want to make money with a blog it is certainly something you can try. Blog about something you're interested in, because if you don't then you might have difficulty continually filling up your blog with content

2 Sure Fire Methods Proven To Convert More Customers

If you're a marketer your number one concern is customers. You've probably read and heard a million and one ideas about how to build relationships, retain customers, create a list of potential customers, and inspire consmer loyalty. But the tough question is, "How do I convert prospects into customers?" There are a lot of people out there who see your ads, think about them, and maybe even say, "I ought to..." They're just waiting to be convinced to to do something about it. There is something you can do to get them moving! 1. Improve Your Offer No on can pass up the deal that's "too good to resist." Think about it... how often do your customers want your product, but just want something else a little more? That leaves you with a long list of "almost sales" that have the potential to be converted into real sales and profit. Sweeten the deal. Make the offer so good they can't resist it. Now, I'm in no way suggesting that you drop your prices to sweeten the deal. You can just as easily load it up with bonuses to increase the perceived value without cutting away at your profit. Bonuses motivate sales, maybe even more than cut prices. Don't let them lollygag. Yeah, get them into the store pronto with a deadline. They may have to put a competitors purchase on hold to get your deal, but hey... what's wrong with that? 2. Follow Up How would you like to increase your sales by more than 50 percent? Yeah, it sounds good! There's really a very simple tactic that you can implement... follow ups. Chances are, prospective customers aren't going to buy your product the first time they see or hear about it. Maybe it'll be the third or fourth, but they have to hear from you that third or fourth time before they actually become a customer. Do you have a follow up system in place? Simply contact the "almost customer" every month with a new offer, or give them more information about the product they are showing interest in. It doesn't have to be an intricate process. Keeping the contact there goes a long way toward building trust... the key to finding life long customers. Internet Marketers experience a high number of customers who browse their site, then click away. You can't follow up without some form of contact information. A great way to gather the info you need is to offer a free ebook or informative report that consumers will find of interest. Once they've given you the information to email them the product, you have what you need to keep in contact, and work on converting them into loyal customers. Personalize as much as possible. If you can get the firstname of your customer... great! Personalized messages have greater appeal than "addressed to occupant" messages.

    Native American Doll 16

I decided to buy my husband and my daughter the same gift this year. This may come as a surprise considering that there is a 36 year age difference between them. However, I know that they will both like getting a Native American doll as a present.

They are just getting very different kinds. The traditional Hopi katsinas is a Native American doll that does not look like a doll at all. The katsinas are not toys. They are very serious pieces of artwork.

Each of this type of Native American doll is hand crafted. They are constructed of cottonwood root and are carved by hand in great detail. I saw this item online when I was shopping for our daughter.

Of course, the costruction and detail of this Native American doll is not for children. It is more of a figurine used for display rather than a toy. No other tribe creates the katsinas other than the Hopi. Other tribes carve figures but none are authentically katisnas if they are not created by a Hopi Indian. The Hopi used the katsinas as teaching tools.

Each of the Native American dolls was carved to represent religious icons. The figurine is used to represent an important aspect of the Hopi religion and it is definitely a Native American doll that is not to be played with. I’m not sure if the Lakota Angel that I chose for my daughter should be played with, either. The delicate detail on this beautiful Native American doll is far too fragile for her little hands.

However, I really wanted to get her something that was from this culture because it is part of her heritage. The angel hovers over a dream catcher and she is wrapped in a colorful blanket. The beautiful Native American doll is adorned with beads and feathers and she looks as if she is floating in mid air. There were many Native American dolls to choose from but the Lakota Angel really stood out for me. I immediately thought of my daughter when I saw it. There were others that stood out as well. I really liked the Lakota Cradle Baby and the Bundle Baby is so cute that I wanted to hug the doll. Hopefully, they will like their presents. They are both getting a Native American doll but they are both getting very different presents with very different meaning.

    Ovarian Cysts

What are ovarian cysts? A cyst is a little balloon filled with air or fluid on one of the ovaries, which then exerts pressure on the right or left side of the lower abdomen. These cysts can be painful. Besides the pain in the lower abdomen, some other symptoms are: erratic, painful periods, often with much uterine bleeding as a result of elevated estrogen levels, painful intercourse, heel pain, and excessive hair growth. When the ovarian cyst bursts the pain is relieved, though in some cases the cyst may reappear. The incidence of ovarian cysts is on the rise, particularly among women between 14 and 55. Let's look at some of the main factors that contribute to the development of cysts, and then the main things we can do to prevent them. Causes of ovarian cysts: Increased use of birth control pills, especially depo provera. Increased consumption of hormone infused foods such as most commercial meat and milk, to which growth hormone has been added. Stressful, frantic lifestyle. Imbalanced, not natural diet. Obesity. A toxic, overburdened liver. How can we diminish the likelihood of ovarian cysts? Consume healthy, that is, organic meats and milks. Eat lots of fresh vegetables and drink abundant water. Use a natural progesterone hormone cream. Increase your liver metabolism and detoxify. Your allies here are the natural tinctures of olive leaf, dandelion, milk thistle seed, and artichoke. Check your thyroid. Stop smoking. Loose weight. When all is said and done though, it really comes down to a healthy lifestyle. This means to be true to yourself, not wishing yourself to be different. The hard part, oddly enough, may not be acts of “heroism”. Rather, it can be dropping parts of ourselves which are not worth holding on to, but we cling to from sheer habit. Your health is in your hands. So take excellent care of yourself you are WORTH it! Warmly Pieternel van Giersbergen.

    Coffee Beans 03

Are you one of the infinite individuals who arise each and every day with java on their mind? Hey, this is nothing to be ashamed of by any means. I too can appreciate a superb cup of coffee. However, this isn't something that comes with any old can of grounds and a cheap drip pot. The true secret lies in the coffee beans.

That's right; it all begins with the coffee itself. You can't seriously expect any old java to do the trick. Wonderful tasting and great smelling coffee beans must be sought out. Having said that, if you're one of the few individuals who could care less what your cup of joe tastes like or where it came from, please continue to consume any old coffee grounds or beans you choose.

As for the rest of us, it's time to invest in true java goodness. There's a place that anyone can access fresh coffee beans in this day and age. I'm referring to the Internet. Therefore it doesn't matter if you reside in some tiny town that lacks a decent coffee shop.

At any time you can hop on the web and seek out stellar coffee beans. Heck, you can even invest in an awesome espresso machine or drip pot, all from the comfort of your own home.

Okay, let me elaborate on the different between fresh coffee beans and the old, past due stuff. Coffee beans, like many foods, have a life span. Let's say I just had some beans roasted.

They will not only smell magnificent, but the flavor of my brew will be outstanding since they're so fresh. However, in about two weeks these coffee beans will start to get old. That is, unless, I vacuum seal them somehow, such as brands like Millstone do. You can commonly spot their coffee in basically any grocery store. If the beans are vacuum sealed, you can count on them staying fresh for at least another three months or so. That's pretty awesome.

But, once they're opened, consider how long they'll taste great and when they'll start to taste old. Just because you purchased coffee from Starbuck's, doesn't mean the coffee beans were fresh, or that the java will taste good for that matter. You would have to inquire further about their roasting and bagging process to learn this. If you truly want to find some fresh coffee, I suggest you try one of the countless coffee websites online. They can ship the freshest coffee beans to you instantly. Trust me when I say it's well worth the effort and slightly varying cost.

In the short term, commercial real estate can help you bring in a better cash flow from the use of the property, and at the same time, in the long run the property will only appreciate in value, which will result in long term benefits should you choose to sell. Most investors also find that there is a lot less risk involved with commercial real estate than there is when dealing with other types of real estate. If you purchase apartment buildings or a strip mall, the risk of your investment will spread out among those who are renting from you, and even if you lose one of your renters, you still will be making money and seeing a return from your investment. Commercial Real Estate Properties Another positive benefit of commercial real estate is that the scope of properties that you can invest in is quite large. Commercial real estate includes various different properties that make excellent investments. As long as the building consists of more than four units, it can be considered a commercial real estate property. Commercial real estate also includes other properties such as strip malls, apartment buildings, RV parks, industrial parks, mobile home parks, and commercial centers. Jobs within the Commercial Real Estate Industry There are a variety of different jobs that are included within the commercial real estate industry, and all of them benefit from this excellent market. The investors have a very important job within the industry, since it is their money that is being used to make the property develop and become prosperous. Builders too have an important job, and many times they work within the commercial real estate industry to build new structures on commercial property such as apartment buildings or shopping malls. The lenders have a very important job, and they work to make sure that investors get the loans and mortgages they may need to be able to purchase commercial real estate properties. Also within the industry are the brokers who represent the owners and deal with the sales and property transfer issues. Last of all, but certainly not least, are the users who actually put the money in the investor's pocket. Financing Commercial Real Estate Those who are planning on being involved in commercial real estate need to consider how they can finance any commercial real estate purchases. While few people can actually just purchase the property with money they already have, most people are going to be turning to other methods of financing the property. More than likely you are going to need to go to a lender to be able to finance any commercial real estate that you want to purchase, but there are a few things that you can do to make the process smother. First of all, you will want to make sure that you have a business plan. You need to be able to show the lender why you want the property and how you plan on making it a successful investment. It is also important that you have at least a portion of the money needed for the property saved up so you can show that this is a serious venture and you are ready to make a personal investment in its success. Also helpful is a current appraisal of the property you are considering. This will help show the value of the property to the prospective lender. Having an attorney to help you and to check out legal issues will also be important, and in the end you should always compare several lending offers before making a final decision. Getting Started For those who are interested in commercial real estate and the financial benefits that can be enjoyed, there are many ways to get a start in the business. One of the keys to getting started is to glean all the information about the business that you can, whether from reading books, searching the internet, or speaking with friends and business colleagues that may have experience in commercial real estate investing. Checking into the area you live in and getting a look at what kind of commercial real estate is available and what the prices are running can help you begin to get a closer look at the costs and the availability of commercial real estate in your area. Attending zoning and city planning meetings may also give you insights and ideas for getting started as well. Lastly, one of the best things you can do is to start building a network of friends and business acquaintances that already have their foot in the door of the commercial market. Learning from their successes and mistakes can help you on your way to becoming a successful commercial real estate investor.
