How To Have A Busy Blog During The Holidays

You've got your business blog going and people seem to like it. The traffic, comments and sign ups to your newsletter are growing and you've put in a lot of work to get it this successful. Now that the holidays are upon us you'll likely have little time to keep your blog up to date, especially if you sell consumer products. You do know that you want to keep this great thing going though. Besides, it's the long term marketing that will help you over the slower periods of the year. What can you do? Try pre scheduling your posts. This is the single most effective method. Do this over the rest of the year to save time when you need a break or are too busy. You can do this by using your blog's scheduled post feature or you could blog by email and set your email client to only send the mail at a pre set date and time. If you're using Outlook, there are plugins you can purchase to help you send scheduled emails. Something else you could do is invite some guest bloggers. You can hire someone. Many times people are more than happy to blog on sites for an affordable fee. You could also invite owners of related businesses to post. This is a great idea because you may not need to pay out any cash and you can return the favor when they get busy. Guest writers are a good way to get some time away from your blog, allow you to concentrate on holiday sales and a wonderful way to introduce a fresh perspective. Here's another idea. Have an assistant post some holiday articles related to your business for you. Articles about the holidays that people find useful such as shopping and budget tips, recipes and etiquette do very nicely. More affordable and enjoyable holidays are something everyone can use to hear about. If your assistant can add information to relate those articles with your product, the better. With that holiday feel in the air, you may be surprised to see how much traffic you end up getting. Possibly more than normal. If you post tips, make sure they're not all at once. Publish some quick, interesting tips over a period of days or even weeks. Tell people they are reading on of a series of tips on “X” topic. This gives your prospects reason to return and you something to blog about on a regular basis. Try audio. Speaking comes more naturally to us than writing and it also requires less effort and time to make a post. Record a short under 5 minute clip about what's happening during the busy holiday period. Tell people about your sales, share how you helped a customer out of his holiday shopping dilemma. There are many tools you can use for a small cost such as AudioAcrobat and HipCast. You can record it and have it posted to your blog immediately. There's no need to abandon your blog at this very busy time of the year. By using the advice in this article you will ensure your blog isn't neglected as you continue to build relationships with your prospects though posting.

Are You Dressed For Online Success

Do you want to work in your pyjamas? Isn’t that the big online dream? To work from home, get out of bed at whatever time you want and work in your pyjamas all day if that’s what you decide to do? Does that system really work though? Is it a good thing to work in your pyjamas? I don’t think it does. I think you should ‘dress for success’. Why??? When you work from home you are your own boss. The big disadvantage that comes with being your own boss is that you don’t have someone telling you what you have to do. Although, I know that’s the reason we don’t want a boss, however, without having someone telling you what to do, or giving you a deadline to meet, sometimes we can tend to slacken off a bit. We don’t have a deadline to finish writing that report, so perhaps we’ll leave it until a bit later while we do some research to try and find a better way to make money online. Many people will spend most of their time always looking for something else and never putting enough focus into one project. You may be wondering what has this got to do with how you dress. I believe that if you get up in the morning and get ready to go to work as you would if you were going to a normal job, then you will get more accomplished during the day. Get dressed to suit the standard that you are trying to make for yourself by working online. You want to make a decent income and be able to afford nice clothes and luxury items. I’m not saying to go out and buy all those luxury items now, but dress as though you are in that position. Dressing for success will give you the motivation throughout the day to work hard for what you want. Working in your pyjamas can make you a bit laid back in your approach to your work. It’s all about your attitude and your attitude can make a huge difference to whether you are successful online or not. How you dress and the routine you give yourself can make a big difference on your attitude for the day. Although being able to work your own hours and wear whatever you want is one of the many advantages to working online, it is important to treat your online work as a normal job. Put in the time and the effort to make it work. Dressing as you would for a normal job can go a long way to giving your job all you’ve got and becoming very successful with it.

The Secret To Achieving 100 Feedback On Ebay

Have you ever noticed how rare it is for high volume ebay sellers to have 100% feedback. It's not like they deliberately scam 1 or 2 % of there 2000 plus customers. They've streamlined the auction process, reduced the risk of faulty products and goods arriving damaged etc. So why are they still left with angry customers. The truth is some people are just jerks. They will bid on an item and then when you expect them to pay for it they will abuse you. Sometimes they will be angry if the product doesn't arrive, even though you did everything you could and it was completely out of your control. Dealing with these people is an everyday occurrence for ebay powersellers. But there are ways to minimize their effect on your feedback. In the initial email say something like "sometimes products will get lost in the post. If it hasn't turned up within 10 days email me and I will replace it". This will warm the customer up to the idea that well, s*** happens and there's no point getting abusive. If the customer backs out of the sale, leave positive feedback. They will appreciate this and give you great feedback, and will be more open toward buying from you in the future. If the customer doesn't respond to your emails, don't leave negative feedback, leave none. You've already lost the sale so nothing can be gained by you getting abusive. It's a very rare seller who is able to bite their tongue, but the rewards far out way the small satisfaction of giving them a piece of your mind.

How To Write A Book Very Quickly

Have an idea! If you can't think of an idea for a book or other product, get some help by asking contacts, colleagues or clients. Failing that, get some brainstorming software such as Mind Manager. If none of that helps go for a long walk, forget everything and let your subconscious get to work. Think Once you have an idea, just let it mull over in your mind. Jot down associated ideas and thoughts. Produce a mind map, if that's your thing, or a list of ideas and thoughts related to your original product concept. Always have a notebook with you so you can jot down ideas as they strike you. That means keeping the notepad by your bed so if you wake in the middle of the night you can record the idea and go back to sleep! Set up an ideas bank Get a folder or a concertina folder that is divided into sections. Label each section for one of the themes your book or product will cover. Put your notes into each appropriate section of the folder. As you read newspapers and magazines, tear out any useful information and bung it in the appropriate section. As you browse web sites and see useful pieces of information, print them out and store them in your folder in the relevant place. Don't judge what you collect; if you think it may be valuable, just collect it and file it. Talk to people Don't keep your book idea a secret. Talk to anyone who you know who could help provide you with useful information. Interview relevant experts and chat with colleagues and contacts to collect extra material. Produce an outline Having written some notes, collected some background material and chatted to people you should now be able to come up with an outline for your product. At first, start with a broad outline of the main themes you will cover. These will make up your chapters. Now, take each theme and subdivide it into the particular points you want to make or things you want to discuss. Write You don't have to start at the beginning. Choose any of the small parts of any chapter and write as much as you can about it. Don't worry about the grammar, the spelling or the niceties of your literary style at this stage. Just write whatever comes to mind about the specific subject you have chosen. Once you've done that, select another part of your detailed outline and write about that. Let's say you have 10 chapters each with five sections. That's 50 sections you need to write. For a 30,000 word paperback of around 120 pages, that means you need around 600 words per section. By taking it a section at a time it is more manageable. If you only did one section per day, you'd have a complete book in only seven weeks. Edit Once you have your sections written, you'll need to pull them together. You will also need to write some connecting paragraphs and sentences to make things flow. Get some help Having produced your first draft, get someone else to read through it and suggest changes. Do not be precious about your work. You are seeking their changes; you want them to change things. Otherwise your material will not be from a reader's perspective, making it less attractive. Once your reader has suggested changes make them! Then tidy up your work. Get some more help Now get someone else to edit your work. They need to go through it with a fine toothcomb, looking for inconsistencies, poor argument and lack of detail or clarity and so on. There are plenty of freelances who will do this from the Society for Editors and Proofreaders ( sfep. org. uk). Check and re check You are on the home straight now! All you need to do is check the work of the proofreaders, make sure that your final text is correct. Stop thinking you could have written a different or better book. Just check this one is OK.

    The Problem With Sheep

You want dumb as a brick? You want too dense to get out of their own way? Get yourself some sheep. Quarry rocks have higher IQs than sheep. In any cavalcade of dumb things, sheep always lead the parade. Animal lovers argue about animal intelligence. Pigs, they say, are really intelligent. Horses, too. Dog lovers discuss the intelligence of various breeds–with their dog in the top group, of course. But nobody argues about the intelligence of sheep. Let's face it. There's dumb. There's dumber. Then there are sheep. Sheep spend their days munching grass. Hour after hour, munching grass. It sounds pleasantly pastoral, but this constant munching creates problems. Wandering from grass clump to grass clump, sheep chew away without looking up. Focused only on the next green clump–and with severely limited vision to start with–they may not notice the rest of the herd hanging a left just when they’ve spotted a juicy morsel to the right–and another, and another, and so on. Then they're lost, wandering around in a daze, bleating. But still grazing. Prompt rescue is necessary. Sheep can’t digest all their grazing until they lie down. But sheep don’t have sense enough to lie down, even when their aching, expanding girth signals impending doom. You have to make them lie down for their own good. Then we have their inherent “follower” nature. Sheep life is one long game of follow the leader. The lead sheep heads over a cliff? No problem. The whole herd follows without a bleat–if, that is, it happens during a moment when they’re paying attention instead of getting lost following a grass clump trail. Also, sheep are helpless against predators. If a wolf gets in the sheep pen, sheep don’t fight back. They don’t try to get away. They don’t spread out. They huddle together, as if to give the wolf an easier, more cohesive target. And if sheep fall into moving water, they drown. Their coats, heavy to begin with, absorb water rapidly, adding poundage by the second, and sheep can't swim. Here’s where we have to give sheep a little credit. Sheep fear moving water and won’t drink from a lake or stream unless the water is still. That’s probably more instinct than common sense, but it’s something. All in all, sheep are pretty pitiful. So why do we insist on imitating them? Follow the crowd, even into disaster? Have to be told to do what’s good for us? Allow predators to eat us for lunch because we won’t fight back? Even sheep have sense enough not to barge into situations that will overwhelm them. We imitate sheep because sheepness is a part of what we are, a part we have to overcome. Let me drop a big name here: In the Bible, Jesus says we’re all like sheep and gives a rundown of what that means. It’s not a pretty picture. We might want to jump to our defense, except he isn’t insulting us, just pointing out a universal, life limiting propensity we all need to overcome. We overcome our sheeply tendencies by discovering the gifts and talents that make us unique, then stretching to maximize all that potential. We think rather than feel our way through life–something sheep could never do. We take responsibility for ourselves–another sheep impossibility. And we don’t bleat all the time. Recognizing our sheepness problem can show us the way to solve it. If we choose to. Do we want to drift from one unnecessary difficulty to another, hoping somebody will rescue us from ourselves, or are we willing to do the heavy lifting required to live a life of purpose and meaning? One advantage we have over sheep is we get to choose. © Copyright 2007 by Bette Dowdell. All rights reserved.

    Introverted Children 33

Don't jump to judgement on introverted children! We all worry about our children. There are an abundance of problems in society that produce a number of sociological disorders, as well as physical conditions which we are all at a loss to understand or explain.

With the prevalence of autism, ADHD and child abuse, it is easy to fear the worst when we see a child behaving in what appears to be an abnormal way. However, introverted children may be so naturally and an introverted perspective may be part of their innate charm. In order to make a fair assessment and reach a rational conclusion, we must allow for natural personality factors, characteristics that a child is born with, before jumping to an erroneous and perhaps damaging conclusion.

This is not to say that all aspects of the environment should not be examined. No parent would wish to ignore a factor that may indicate a serious situation requiring attention.

On the other hand, we don't want to magnify a purely natural condition out of proportion. Doing so without reason can only serve to put a misplaced and negative emphasis on a child's natural personality. Introverted children are aspected by several personality characteristics.

They may be uncomfortable in the limelight, they may prefer to watch rather than show or simply delight in being in the background. There may be nothing unhealthy in these desires and so we should not attribute a negative diagnosis to this little wallflower. Psychological studies have shown that introverted children are often geniuses, gathering information about the world around them before expressing themselves to others, including their parents and siblings. Many famous artists were introverted children, just waiting and watching for their time to bloom.

While introverted children can be a sign of a troubled environment, don't jump the gun. Take all the factors into consideration. If you know, or are the parent of an introverted child, consider first that this child is a natural observer, one who wishes to take it all in before commenting. Such children may be the most astute among us. Try hard not to discount introverted children as victims of society.

Instead, see them as children looking for a way to open up, to you and the world at large. While you keep your eyes peeled for evidence of disease or abuse, don't make so much of it where it isn't warranted. Introverted children may just be born that way. Shy and timid, humble and unpresuming, these children are delightful. Cherish this naturally introverted child.

    Toxin In Your Drink

People are always reminded to refrain from consuming too much sodas and softdrinks because they contain lots of sugar and can cause tooth decay. But never because they contain benzene. Benzene is a byproduct and chemical present in the atmosphere where there is presence of concentrated chemical pollutants. Benzene presence in softdrinks had been confirmed by a team of doctors in a research facility in Australia. This now posed a new barrage of health and medical concerns and debates. A spokesperson from the FSANZ (Australia's food board) confirmed benzene presence of the said substance and proceeded to outline and allay the health and medical fears the results posed. According to the FSANZ, benzene is formed when the ascorbic acid in the beverage reacts with the food additives used for the soda. However, the resulting benzene is very low and at negligible amounts. The agency also eliminated the risk of poisoning and health problems that could be caused by benzene presence. FSANZ asserted that a person would have to consume over 20 liters of softdrink to reach the amount taken in from polluted air. But they also emphasized that benzene, in any form, is undesirable in food and drinks. The agency also assured the public that they are indeed working with softdrink manufacturers to further reduce the amount of possible benzene formation. Despite the assurance of the FSANZ, a toxic specialist, Kathy Hughes expressed disappointment over the response of the FSANZ. According to her, it does not matter whether the benzene concentration is negligible or not, but the fact that it is in there and it is significant enough to be detected, should alert health and medical professionals. It is also imperative that consumption of softdrinks found with benzene should be stopped or else limited to adults since benzene can stunt the growth of the mental and physical faculties of children. She also stressed the significance of the surprising result of the combination of two relatively harmless substances: additives and ascorbic acid. She asserted that if two harmless and common substances used in food preparation resulted in a toxin, there could be much worse amounts in products that used the substances in higher concentrations. She called on to the FSANZ to reinforce more stringent measures not only on the finished products, but also on the substances used to make them. This is important to detect and stop possible toxin formation. Lastly, perhaps it is better to limit intake of processed foods and beverages to ensure that less chemicals enter and pollute the body systems. Food safety should be a top priority for consumers and manufacturers alike. It is also wise to act on anything that raise health and medical problems immediately to avoid further complications.

    The World Cup Fever

Waiting for the World Cup to start has always been a punishing yet rewarding experience for soccer aficionados. The former is felt days after the last World Cup ends, the latter, days before the next one starts. Soccer fans will declare that the long four year wait is all worth it once this truly world event begins with that starting kick off. All that pent up excitement has to come out sometime and what better way for it to go than through the explosion of cheers, applause and jubilant gestures of support once the games are underway. Finally, the excruciating wait is over as the eight groups of thirty two teams from various countries compete for the World Cup Trophy and their respective nation’s pride. Last Friday marked the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany. Several countries virtually went into a standstill as history unfolded in the Allianz Arena at Munich. This truly is an occasion of global proportions as football devotees root for their country’s team with fervent display of loyalty and zeal. In the 64 grueling and exciting matches ahead, soccer fans are sure to get a treat as the likes of Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, and Beckham strut their wares on the road to football glory. The powerhouse that is Brazil is clearly the team to beat this year. In the seventeen previous tournaments since the first World Cup in 1930, Brazil has been a dominant force having won five of the seventeen events including the one back in 2002. The defending champions shouldn’t take it easy though because hot on their heels are other soccer superpowers and they are not trailing far behind in talent and passion. Italy, England, Germany and Argentina are only few of the countries that will surely make Brazil’s journey to the finals very difficult. The other countries in FIFA’s top world ranking list includes Spain, Mexico, Netherlands, Czech Republic and the United States. These are all formidable teams that can certainly hold their own in this tournament and could easily be this year’s World Cup champions. It is almost an impossibility to predict who will raise the trophy in Berlin on July 9 but that’s simply the beauty of it! One thing is for sure, the country that gets to keep the World Cup Trophy for the next four years will have justly earned and deserved it. All this rich history, glorious pride, legendary teams, prominent personalities and beautiful venues will be the making of one of the best tournaments thus far. Talking about the World Cup would be incomplete without mentioning the hooligans that this event seemingly attracts. Add booze to the mix and you’ve got an explosive situation warranting a serious once over. Too often, the World Cup has been analogous to thousands of people trooping into colossal stadiums, euphoric crowd shouting, ultra tight security and some minor riots happening near and around the stadium. Although there is nothing wrong with this image (except for the riot part) and all the fanfare, the real value of this monumental event is not just about winning the most sought after accolade in sports. It is the coming together of different countries and cultures under one common goal. Let’s play futbol!

    Tattoo Removal Options

Tattoo Removal Options The removal of a tattoo is often thought of as being a very painful process. Although the process may have been very painful in the past, the technology of today offers methods of removing tattoos. Currently, there are two options to remove tattoos that are rapidly becoming more and more popular – laser technology and light based technology. Both surgeries used light energy to destroy the ink in the tattoo. The ink in the tattoo will absorb the energy of the light, breaking it up. Once the ink starts to break up, it can easily be passed through and out of your body through filtering. In most cases this is extremely safe, as the ink is broken down into micro size to where it can easily pass through the body with no complications. The process is actually similar to the surgery in which hair is removed. The surgeon or doctor who performs the surgery will hold a wand to the skin that is being treated. As he does this, the pulses of light are aimed at the tattoo, breaking up the ink. The wand is normally held right up against the tattoo, as this makes the pulses of light much more effective. Normally, the feeling that you’ll experience is best described as an elastic or rubber band flicking constantly against your skin. If the tattoo is big, the pain could certainly be a bit more intense. The area where the tattoo is at is also important, as sensitive areas may cause you quite a bit of pain and discomfort. If the area in which you have the tattoo doesn’t have a lot of muscle or tissue, you’ll more than likely want to be numbed as much as possible before starting the procedure. Both laser and light based treatments are somewhat similar. With both tattoo removal procedures, the doctor that is doing the procedure will always apply a cooling gel to the tattoo area that is being treated to cool the skin and conduct the energy of the light. This cooling gel helps to draw the light, and at the same time protect your skin. The gel will feel cool to the touch, although it will help your skin when the light pulses start to break the ink apart. If you’ve been thinking about having a tattoo removed you should consider both light and laser based procedures. Keep in mind that they are both expensive, and both impose risks. Depending on how big your tattoo is and what the procedure involves, you may need to spend a night or two in the hospital. Even though both procedures do offer ways to have your tattoo removed, you’ll need to think long and hard before you make a final decision. PPPPP (word count 456)

    Angelina And Her Babies

Adoption of babies by celebrities is the epicenter of controversies and brings special coverage in print media. The UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) Goodwill Ambassador and Hollywood actor Angelina Julie has been trying to adopt babies in several countries though she biologically owns one and is reported to be expecting another. Controversies are part and parcel of these initiatives that intend to help the underprivileged families finding sponsors for their kids. Despite issues faced by the Oscar winning star of the action movie Tomb Raider and her boyfriend Brad Pitt, the glamorous couple on the earth is set to opt for more adoption across the world. They have already adopted two children – Maddox, a five year old and Zahara, a 22 month old, and are looking at adopting one in India, though their plans are yet to take shape. Do the adopted babies add value to their already swelling kitty? Future might have an answer for this though these kids will be brought under different geographies and culture. Their adorable baby Shiloh has already brought more fame for their family and attracted millions after the Hollywood couple sold the first public photographs to magazines and then donated the proceeds to charity. Besides Shiloh, the two adopted babies are also getting substantial media attention. Following the adoption of Zahara from Ethiopia, a number of women had claimed Zahara’s motherhood giving a fresh phase to the adoption related controversies. The controversy ended after an Ethiopian judge ruled that the woman who claimed to be her mother is not the biological mother. Besides babies, Julie is keen to support humanitarian causes throughout the world visiting several countries, and is well known for her work with refugees through UNHCR. As the Goodwill Ambassador, Julie’s main focuss is on field missions. As part of the field missions, Julie visited refugees and internally displaced persons during her first three years as the Goodwill Ambassador. Julie was subjected to criticism by the pop diva Madonna for using the former’s fame to assist the UN. According to the pop singer, she has done more good to the world by adopting the underprivileged. In contrary to Madonna’s allegations, Julie was not just visiting refugee camps, but she also published Notes from My Travels, a collection of journal entries that chronicle her early field missions in 2001 2002 alongwith the release of one of her movies. The proceeds from the book sale was used to support the UNHCR initiatives. As part of her humanitarian work, Julie was already associated with several social issues by funding a number of projects and visited places like Thailand, Ecuador, Kosovo, Kenya, Namibia, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Russia, North Caucasus, etc. Julie’s celebrity status is making headlines everyday. She used her celebrity power to highlight humanitarian issues globally and get support from others. For instance, she promoted World Refugee Day 2006 in a two hour interview with Anderson Cooper in CNN, and this program attracted more than double the audience of his typical newscast.

    Banish Boredom With Water Sports

Been there, done that. Even the most ambitious hobbyists may find it hard to put a new spin on their favorite sport. Why not check out something new like learning your way around a personal watercraft? Personal watercraft (like the popular Kawasaki Jet Ski brand) have become hotter than ever and, compared to most boats, are less expensive to own and easier to operate. While the idea of motoring around the water on one of these machines may seem a little daunting at first, it's easy to learn with proper instruction. Once you're on the water, there are plenty of ways to mix up your time so that you'll always look forward to the next outing. Try these simple suggestions for making the most of your machine: * Many towns have local personal watercraft clubs that offer tons of activities. These organizations host family oriented events and provide groups with which to go exploring. * Get friends and family in on the act by towing them around on water skis, wakeboards or inner tubes at nearby lakes. * Renting a houseboat? Take along your personal watercraft for exploring coves, cooling off during the hot noontime hours or making quick trips dockside to stores and snack shops. Your personal watercraft can provide just the transportation you need when it's necessary to make contact with the rest of the world. * Feeling adventurous? Put on your explorer cap and check out that slightly remote river that you have always wanted to hit. Take a day long run there are mysteries and memories to be found on hundreds of rivers nationwide. * Whether you're on the East or West Coast, there are endless marinas and bays to explore on your personal watercraft. Keep things interesting by visiting a new spot each time you ride. * For the environmentally minded, the good news is that these machines are also safer for the planet. The Kawasaki Jet Ski STX 15F, for example, is powered by a high performance four stroke engine and has earned the highest "Three Star Ultra Low Emission" rating, abiding by the Environmental Protection Agency's strictest standards, as well as the California Air Resources Board standards for 2008.

The Upside Down World Of Web Branding

Some of the best ideas for web branding defy logic. For instance, if you were to develop an ecommerce site you might well seek to establish your business name as the primary branding feature. What if your business name is less important than you think? Developing a catchy slogan seems to be an important step in branding? What if your site visitor is mostly interest in what you do or what you have to offer? In some ways the best ideas for web branding turn the tables of conventional thought and leave the entrepreneur standing on his ‘proverbial’ head. Would it surprise you to learn that the most common elements prospective customers look for is the immediacy of information that allow them to connect with your site as a provider of their need? Frankly, many of these prospects are interested in your company name only after they determine if you can help them. By placing the ‘what we do or sell’ before the ‘who are we anyway’ online business may discover visitors will spend more time with the site and that may ultimately result in a satisfied customer. Look at it this way; I am looking for a company that sells grommets in bulk. The search engine I use tells me there are over 2.5 million sites that have to do with grommets. Now, if an online business that is selling grommets has performed proper Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques I can be fairly certain some of the best grommet stores are going to be displayed first. However, if all I find on the opening page is a fancy logo, slogan and a paragraph or two about how the grommet store came into being I may well be tempted to hit the ‘back’ button and continue my search somewhere else. Most online visitors don’t want to spend a lot of time learning to navigate a new site, especially if it turns out to be a site that does not ultimately meet their needs. By all means, develop an attractive logo that represents your business well, but let the branding take place in the immediacy of information. If you are able to answer your prospects most basic questions quickly this will likely impact them in a greater way than attractive flash design that supplies little relevant substance. Branding is always about more than the logo and nothing less than a positive impression. Does this alter your thinking about how to brand your business? What can you do to take a positive step forward?
